Book Cover Design
Norway's constitution of 1814 introduced the freedom of press. However, a handful of works of fiction have been banned all the same. This series collects these novels, and salutes the freedom of expression by passing them on to modern readers.
As the books were banned because of sexual content, the cover has close-up nude images, censored by a black ribbon spanning the jacket. The ribbons quote the conviction that banned the books. In these sentences, the author name always appears over the front cover, and is not printed on the jacket itself.
On the backs of the books, the most provocative scene from each book is quoted, but the excerpt is hidden by a sheet attached to the ribbon. The ribbon is however removable, revealing the content.
